Look-Alike Doll: Boy in Green Tee with Fox Shoes
I'd never made a doll of such a young person, but my friend REALLY wanted to present this as a gift. Can you tell that my favorite part about him is his shoes? I divided the yarn in half and used a low heat flatiron for his baby fine hair.
Mersen with Ponytail
This little mersen is shorter than her sea sister. I was playing around with tail lengths to figure out what I liked best. I also had fun with her hair. I really like the high, full ponytail, don't you?
Custom Doll: Queen Nefertiti
My first royal commission... kinda! The client wasn't a royal... as far as I know, but she did request a Queen Nefertiti doll for a dear friend. It was intended as a birthday gift and I heard the recipient was delighted! This doll was definitely a challenge- mostly the crown, really- but I loved making her and was a bit sad to place her into her shipping box. I'm elated to know she means something so special between two friends, though!
Look-Alike Doll: 3 Siblings
This trio was fun! The boys have the same shoes which were a fun challenge to figure out. The girl's glasses aren't red as in her reference photo as she'd gotten new glasses by the time the order was made.
Look-Alike Dolls: Big Brother & Little Brother
I actually made these twice; once for their mom, and again for their dad. They are smaller than my regular dolls and presented me with a few challenges because of it. They're not twins, their mom just enjoys dressing them similarly sometimes. So far, they're still young enough to enjoy it as well. Isn't that adorable?
Look-Alike Doll: A Birthday Gift
This is actually my cousin. My aunt liked my dolls so much, she ordered one for his birthday in 2020! It was fun to make and more fun to keep the secret from him. The doll has a baseball cap on too, but it's a little hard to see in this photo. His bear is made of many little knots.
Mersen with Purple Hair
Under the sea, wait, who is SHE? Well, I never gave her a name, but she was sure fun to make! The body of her tail is made with a sparkly yarn. The fins are a thinner, regular yarn. Her eyeshadow has glitter mixed into the paint for a fun POP!
Look-Alike Doll: Magical School Couple
An anniversary gift from husband to wife. They definitely share at least one common interest. The robes are removable and the hoods can be worn up or down. This was my first time painting the garments and I'm so glad it turned out well.
Look-Alike Dolls: A Family of Four
Isn't this family of four adorable? Instead of being completely based from the photo, "Mom" opted for a more personal touch. Her older boy was more into black when I made the dolls and she wanted me to capture his vibrant personality as well, so I gave him a big, mouth- half-open smile.
